FAQ's: Welcome

Where are you from?

I am from Kansas City, KS. Born and Raised, but I've lived in many parts of the area, including the Missouri side.

Where did you go to school?

Growing up, I lived in Wyandotte County (in KCK), and I attended USD 500 schools. In 8th grade, I was accepted into Sumner Academy of Arts and Science, but after a few family hardships, I transferred to F.L. Schlagle High School for my freshman-junior year. Then, I moved in with my grandmother and spent my last year and a half of high school at Lee's Summit West. Phew, that was a lot!

What do you do in your professional life?

I currently work in the undergraduate admissions office of a university in Kansas. I work on events, communications, and marketing that pertains to undergrads.

What's the S in your name stand for?

My parents named me Britney Shardanay (pronounced like the white wine, Chardonnay).

Can you look at my query?

Most days, I don't have the time, but sometimes I do free query critiques! You can follow me on social media for updates. I'd also suggest joining an online forum like Agent Query Connect.

How long have you been writing?

It feels like forever. I've been creating stories and documenting my life in my diary since I was eight! I didn't get into writing books until I was sixteen.

What's your favorite Young Adult book?

Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon, and We Were Liars by E. Lockhart.
